Tour de France - qualifier Brevett

Of late cycling has turned into my passion , after the uphill & downhill of nelliampathy which was about 45 kms. And the following Thrissur to Nilambur and back a 170 km ride. 

We had planned a ride to Ooty and back which remained a plan for a year.

One member from our group Allwin has registered for  Cochin Brevett in which a 200 kms in 7 hrs is going to be the qualifier.

Followed by that there would be a 500 Brevett and a 1000 Brevett to qualify for tour de france

Idea is brewing to organize a Marathon in Thrissur

Rising cost and formalities over marathons. Idea to organize a marathon in Thrissur is Brewing.I have with me a tribe of 4 ( including me ) who are inspired by the idea.

Our Tribe is presently into Cycling we have done an Up hill ride to Nelliampathy from Pothundy Dam Which is about 20 Kms and a continued downhill of same distance after that.

We have also done a Thrissur to Nilambur and Back with a train ride in between due to Heavy rain and Lightning overall travelled distance was 180 kms.

If we are to believe ourselves we are going to do a Thrissur to Ooty via nilambur and return in December.

  Stephen took over the kenyan who were running together at 37 kms and before the 23 miles he was leading and then he maintained it to the end.

Plan to revive long distance run

I am determined to start  long distance run once again as i had stopped due to high registration fees.

I have observed that my stamina has become very low.

Cyclothon on Spetember 25th by Kamineni Hospitals

Kamineni hospitals is organising a Cyclothon on sep 25th for spreading awareness on the importance of an active lifestyle for a fit heart and a healthy life.

Its open to everyone above 15 years of age.

It would be a 7km stretch via the necklace road.

This would be the First Cyclothon in Hyderabad, although its just 7km only.

Sammy Wanjiru R.I.P

Sammy wanjiru the olymic marathon champion from kenya committed suicide by jumping from a balcony on 16th May.

Sammy was supposed to run along Haile gebresellasie in Germany, which could result in a new world record.He had finished in beijing at 2 hours 6 mins and 32 sec which is incredible for the heat and terrain in china.His death means one gold medal less in London marathon for Kenya.

Marathon world record holder Haile expressed shock over his death, and concern if Althletic fraternity could have avoided it.

But what led to his death is exactly unknown as it could be that he attempted suicide or he could have jumped out of the balcony over rage.Its heard that his wife had found him in bed with another women and she had locked him up.
